Birth certificate has finally been issued to Manjhi, the Japanese baby who was born to a surrogate mother in India. The issue got engaged in a legal tussle as her biological mother abandoned her.

Following this, Manjhi's lawyer Indira Jaisingh and her grandmother will move the Indian government to release travel documents for her. They will seek visa. The process will begin on Monday.

Under a surrogacy agreement, Manjhi was born to an Indian woman in Anand in Gujarat two weeks ago.Her biological father, a divorced Japanese, wanted her custody, but with no surrogacy law in India, there was a huge dilemma on who she should go to.The birth certificate was crucial for Manjhi to unite with her family in Japan.
