Bangalore, Aug 15: As many as 18 persons have lost their lives in the recent rain and flood-related incidents in Karnataka, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said on Friday.

He said that district authorities have been asked to submit a report on the extent of damage, after which the state governemnt would decide on seeking assistance from the Centre for relief measures.

Yeddyurappa said Rs 100 crore was available with district authorities to deal with the situation, and an additional Rs 40 crore has also been provided.
