Kolkata : A top Maoist leader responsible for operations in West Bengal and neighbouring states Orissa and Jharkhand was today arrested by the CID from Hridaypur railway station in North 24 Parganas district on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, CID arrested the leader, known only by his first name Somen, from the station, Rajeev Kumar, IG (Special Operations), CID said here.
CID sources said that Somen, a general secretary of CPI (Maoist) for the last three years, belonged to Khardah in the district.
