Bangalore: NEC Displays Solutions (NECDS), a wholly owned company of NEC Corp (Japan), and Hong Kong-based TPV Technology Ltd on Saturday said that they would collaborate to sell NECDS’ basic LCD desktop display in India through TPV’s sales and service network।



With this alliance, NECDS, a display-solution provider, would sell its basic 15-, 17- and 19-inch wide models for mass consumers and business-to-business markets. The company plans to sell 500,000 displays in the next three years, it said. NECDS said it would work closely with TPV, a solutions provider specialised in the design and production of monitors and flat televisions, for the manufacture of the LCD displays।


Sanjay Dhuria, Head (MMPG), NEC India Pvt Ltd, said most of the components would be sourced from Japan and assembled in China।



NECDS said it does not have immediate plans of setting up a manufacturing facility in India. But it said the company may start a manufacturing unit in the future. The company has set a target of $50 million by 2009 in India.
