NEW DELHI: It was another chilly morning for Delhiites on Saturday with the temperatures remaining below normal at 2.9 degree Celsius.

The minimum temperature, six notches below normal, has dipped by 2.1 degree Celsius compared to Friday's 4 degrees Celsius, the MeT office said.

The maximum temperature on Friday was 20.2 degree Celsius, three degrees below normal of the season.

It will be mainly clear sky with light rain or thundershowers in the night in the next twenty-four hours, predicts the weather office.

The MeT office has also forecast the minimum temperature to climb to six degree Celsius, a departure from the past few days when the capital has been experiencing intense cold.

The minimum and maximum temperatures had been many notches below normal of the season.

The season's lowest was recorded at 1.9 degrees Celsius on January 2 while the second lowest was recorded on January 28 at 2.3 degree Celsius.

This unusually cold spell in the national capital had even forced the Delhi Government to shut down all primary schools.
